On Wednesday 27th September, Ruth Stuart, Head of Strategy Development at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) launched the Jubilee Centre's new research report Character Virtues in Business and Finance at the CIPD headquarters in Wimbledon, London. The report presents findings from research which draws on insights from business schools, students, and practitioners to examine character and virtues in the business and finance professions, exploring in particular the extent to which such students and alumni draw on virtue-based reasoning when confronted with ethical dilemmas.
The launch event also included a presentation by lead author of the report Professor Kristján Kristjánsson, Deputy Director of the Centre, and an address by Peter Cheese, the CEO of the CIPD. Martin Martinoff, Programme Manager at the The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, also spoke about the report.
A summary of the key findings and recommendations can be found at the report page.
