Catherine joined the Jubilee Centre as a Research Fellow in September 2017. In 2010, she was awarded ESRC funding for a 1+3 years at the University of Birmingham, completing an MRes in Psychology research followed by a PhD in children’s cognitive development. Catherine’s doctoral thesis focussed on the development of children’s metacognition and the cognitive processes underpinning children’s understanding of uncertainty. Following Catherine’s PhD, she completed a postdoc for an educational and psychology consultancy investigating current teaching policy on phonics education. Prior to joining the centre Catherine worked as a teaching fellow in the School of Psychology lecturing on the modules Adolescent Mind and Brain and Introduction to Developmental Psychology.
Catherine is currently working on The Psychological Development of Character: Emotion, Identity and Phronesis project.
