The Jubilee Centre have collated details of a number of conferences which may be of interest to those interested in the field of Character Education.

 

Conference and Call for Papers: “Sins, Vices and Virtues” 13th – 15th March 2013 (Portugal). This interdisciplinary conference seeks a new, provocative, intercultural perspective on some enduring truths concerning virtues and vices, sins and transgressions.

 

Conference and Call for Papers: “Is There Anything Like Moral Character & Virtue?” 10th – 11th May 2013 (Poland). The Conference will be held at the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Journalism, University of Gdańsk. Abstracts must be submitted by 15th March 2013.

 

Third International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) Conference 27th June - 20th June 2013 (California). Topics include: Positive Development across the Lifespan; Positive Environments, Sustainability, and Conservation; The Healthy Body and the Healthy Mind; Work and Well-Being; Creativity and Evolution.

 

International Summer School in Affective Sciences: "Emotion, Morality and Value". 5th – 13th July 2013 (Switzerland). Organized by the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (SCAS), this summer school proposes to approach the question of the relationship between emotions and values by focusing on the role emotions play in our moral lives. Deadline for applications is 24th March 2013.

 

Inter-Disciplinary.Net 6th Global Conference: “Forgiveness”. 6th - 8th July 2013 (Oxford, UK). This interdisciplinary conference project seeks to investigate and explore the nature, significance, and practices of forgiveness.

 

Conference and Call for Papers: “Virtues, Vices, and Teaching” 3rd 5th October 2013 (Michigan). Hosted by the Kuyers Institute for Christian Teaching and Learning at Calvin College, Grand Rapids. Proposals must be submitted by 15th May 2013.

 

National Forum on Character Education and Call for Program Proposals: “Education for Character at Home, in School and in Communities” 24th – 27th October 2013 (Washington, D.C.) Proposals must be received no later than 1st March 2013.
