In his paper, 'Character Education: The Second-Oldest Profession' presented in the session ‘The Past, Present, and Future of Character Education’ at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) annual meeting on 6th April, Dr. Berkowitz proposed a comprehensive model of character, incorporating all aspects of character, and looked at the need for the field of character education to move towards integrative theory and pedagogy. Dr Berkowitz was also the discussant for 'Integrating Moral and Social Development within Middle-School Social Studies: A Social Cognitive Domain Approach.'
