Professor Barry Schwartz 'Why a Good Teacher Must be a Wise Teacher': Register Now 14th May 2014 Academic Centre News Professor Barry Schwartz, Dorwin Cartwright Professor of Social Theory and Social Action at Swarthmore College, received his Ph.D. in 1971 from the University of Pennysylvania. Having written extensively in the field of thought and practical wisdom his research interests also include decision making, creation of values and the interaction of morality and self-interest.
As part of the Centre’s Distinguished Professor Programme Prof. Schwartz will be speaking at the University of Birmingham on Tuesday 20 May 2014. The lecture entitled ‘Why a Good Teacher Must be a Wise Teacher’ will be followed by a food and drinks reception.
