The Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues ran several activities at the University of Birmingham’s Community Day on Sunday 7th September 2014. Members of the public learnt more about the Jubilee Centre’s research and development projects, and young people had the opportunity to write letters for the national Thank You Letter Awards and watch the films made by young people across the UK as part of the Thank You Film Awards.
Young people took part in two musical theatre workshops led by the Birmingham Musical Theatre Company and performed songs and stories from Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Just So’ stories in front of a large audience at Chancellor’s Court. The performances were filmed so that all participants can have a copy of their achievement, and everyone taking part received a goodie bag.
Over 10,000 people were on campus to attend the Community Day.
