17th November 2014
The National Liberty Museum hosted an Educator Open House on Thursday 13th November for any educator or youth-serving professionals in the Greater Philadelphia region. Among the guests were teachers learning about the Museum for the first time and those who have been bringing their schools to its facility for years. Educators experienced the new Welcome to Liberty Gallery featuring liberty heroes like Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King and Anne Frank who exemplify the virtues the Museum teaches students. Attendees also learned about the Museum’s Liberty Education curriculum whose units focus on learning and enacting the virtues that underpin liberty, such as empathy, honesty and responsibility, as well as the Museum’s professional development opportunities for teachers.
