Jubilee Centre and Demos Hold Conference on Character with Shadow Secretary of State for Education 10th December 2014 Conference Character Education

On Monday 8th December the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues hosted a joint conference on character with Demos, Britain’s leading cross-party think tank. The conference, titled The Character Conference, was held at the Institute of Directors in London. The conference explored different aspects of character and society opened with a keynote speech from Tristram Hunt MP on the ‘character gap’ and the need for more emphasis on character throughout the education system. Other sessions covered the themes: character in the classroom; the role of sport, art and extra-curricular activity in building character; volunteering and social action and how they transform young people; and, the role parents can play in building character.
