Centre Delivers University of Birmingham School Inset Training 10th September 2015 Centre News Character Education

On Monday 7th September, the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues delivered character education inset training to teachers embarking on an exciting first school term at the new University of Birmingham School.  The training included a welcome by Professor Saul Becker, Head of the College of Social Sciences at the University, and Centre Director Professor James Arthur.  Teachers were then introduced to both the research and development work that the Jubilee Centre undertakes, with a particular focus on the Secondary Programme of Study.  The Centre has worked in close partnership with the new school to develop a bespoke curriculum with a focus on character education and enrichment, a fundamental element of the school’s ethos.  Workshops on the day provided teachers with the space to be able to explore new approaches to helping their pupils flourish.  The full welcome speech by Professor James Arthur is available here.
