Director of Development, Dr. Tom Harrison gave a presentation on ‘developing character through youth social action’ at the Community Partnership Schools Conference – Uniting Communities held on Saturday 7th November at Kings Edwards School in Birmingham. The conference was organised by the Independent Schools Council and King Edwards Schools to raise awareness of community action and was attended by teachers and students from schools across Britain. Tom spoke about the Building Character research report published this year that evidenced the role youth social action plays in developing character virtues in children and young people. He also talked through the key recommendations in the Statement on Youth Social Action and Character Development.
