Dr Tom Harrison, the Centre’s Director of Education, gave a presentation on ‘what is character education and why does it matter’ to staff at the Department for Education (DfE) on Thursday 3rd March 2016. The presentation was watched live by staff in the DfE offices in London, Coventry, Sheffield, Darlington and Manchester. The DfE invited Tom to present to help staff to gain a better understanding of what character education is given that the Secretary of State has made character a priority area and a new department of character and resilience been established.
