On Monday 9th January 2017, Professor David Carr delivered an invited keynote address to an Azim Premji Foundation conference on theory and practice in education in Bangalore, southern India. His paper was entitled 'Theory, Knowledge and Justice in Educational Practice’ and focussed mainly on the importance of phronesis or practical wisdom, character and virtue for good educational practice. Professor Carr repeated this presentation at a meeting of educationalists and teachers in the northern Indian city of Dehradun on Sunday 15th January and also presented a paper on ‘Virtue and Moral Character in Education and Teaching’ in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Friday 13th January.
