Head of University of Birmingham School Quoted in CBI Report which Prioritises Character 27th June 2019 Partner News Character Education

The recently published report 'Getting Young People "Work Ready"' by the CBI calls for a renewed focus on character in preparing young people for the modern world of work. The report recognises that 'being work ready means a rounded education that includes character' and identifies character as fundamental to work readiness according to employers of young people. Bec Tigue, Head of School at the University of Birmingham School is quoted in the report highlighting the benefits of the school's dedication to character education: ‘Our approach guides pupils to become active, high performing and engaged citizens, teaching them to show gratitude, compassion, integrity and resilience and taking responsibility for their action’.
