On 16th-18th September, Michael Fullard and Paul Watts presented at the International Symposium on New Issues in Teacher Education (ISNITE 2019), hosted by the University of Malta’s Faculty of Education. Speaking on the theme of Teacher Standards and Qualifications, Michael Fullard presented on the importance of including character within the Teachers’ Standards: ‘Teachers’ Standards in the UK: The Need to Engage with Character Education’. Paul Watts presented on the theme of Reflective Practice and Teacher Learning, discussing the initial insights from the Teacher Education Project and how teacher training can promote practical wisdom in trainees: ‘The Promotion of Practical Wisdom in Teaching through Critical Reflection During Initial Teacher Education’.
