On Friday 4th October, the Jubilee Centre hosted the #iwill Ambassadors 2019 event in the Great Hall of the University of Birmingham. The event celebrated the outstanding contribution of fifty young people to improving their communities through youth social action, with this year’s cohort joining a now 300-strong movement of #iwill ambassadors from across the country. The Jubilee Centre has partnered with the #iwill campaign since 2013, and has sponsored the ambassadors event each year. This year’s event was the first outside of London. Head of the University of Birmingham School and Director of Character Rebecca Tigue gave a speech at the event on the approach to character building through youth social action that the School employs, and the 2019 ambassadors included Waleed Kahn, student at the University of Birmingham School. More information on the each new ambassador can be found here. A press release from the event can be found online here.
