The Jubilee Centre is seeking proposals from scholars to spend up to 12 weeks as a Visiting Fellow of the Centre in the summer months of 2020. Applications are encouraged from scholars at different stages, from PhD students near completion to full professors. We ask interested parties to submit a proposal of max. 500 words to the Jubilee Centre Manager, Danielle Edwards (email@example.com) before February 15th 2020.
The proposal should comprise a description of the research to be undertaken and expected outputs, in addition to the proposed length of stay and preferred dates. The proposed research topic should align with some of the Jubilee Centre's research interests, such as theories and pedagogies of character; moral and civic virtues; the intellectual virtue of phronesis, virtue-based professional ethics; teacher training for character education; character and information technologies; and school-parents collaborations on character. More specifically, applicants are asked to name individuals or projects within the Jubilee Centre with which they would like to collaborate, and it is expected that published outputs (either published as Insight-series papers/reports on the Jubilee Centre's website or submitted to international journals) will be co-authored by the applicants and members of staff within the Jubilee Centre.
Each fellowship covers economy class return travel, accommodation during the residence, and a fee commensurate with qualifications, experience and career stage. For the period of their fellowship Visiting Fellows will be given office space in the Jubilee Centre. The fee will be agreed in line with the University of Birmingham salary structure, Grades 7-10. We would normally expect fellows to spend a minimum of four weeks on campus although cases for longer visits of up to 12 weeks will be considered.
