On Tuesday 18th February 2020, Aidan Thompson gave a lecture on ‘The Call for Character’ at International Week Skopje, at the SS. Cyril and Methodius University. Aidan spoke to about 150 students and faculty about the resurgent call in education circles for a focus on character and character education in schools and the recent shift in language to use character as a lens through which to view curriculum development, planning, staff training, and general school life, rather than as an additional demand on teachers who are already over-burdened and short on time. The lecture was given as part of a weeklong event of invited guest speakers, which included delegates from the United States, Poland, Croatia, Austria, and the Netherlands. The agenda, book of abstracts, and speaker presentations from International Week are available here.
