Since the UK’s lockdown began in March 2020, there has been loss, trauma and other significant hardships experienced as a result of the coronavirus, but also, numerous stories of compassion and kindness within communities and from individuals. The Jubilee Centre’s 'Grateful Britain: Thank You Contest for Schools' offers pupils the opportunity to show gratitude to those who have helped others during this period by writing a thank you letter to someone who has inspired them or helped members of their community since lockdown. This could be a person, group or organisation. The three winning schools will receive a £250 book voucher and a £50 book voucher for pupils and five runners up will receive a £150 book voucher for the school, with a £25 book voucher for pupils. More information, including how to find advice on how to get pupils thinking about their letters, a Thank You Letter template and guidance for teachers, is available here.
