An Attitude for Gratitude - Festival of Social Science
The ‘Attitude for Gratitude’ researchers organised and
delivered a public engagement event at the International Convention Centre
(ICC) in Birmingham City Centre as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science.
The event aimed to raise awareness of the Jubilee Centre for Character and
Values, as well as collect data for the Centre’s research into gratitude.
The event was a success on all fronts, raising awareness of
the Centre and its research, and by playing ‘Thank You Films’ videos all week
in the ICC atrium. Over the course of the day researchers were able to recruit
54 participants for the Values Velcro Board; get 10 participants to write thank
you letters; and record 2 thank you films.
The feedback we received on the day was overwhelmingly
positive; members of the public were extremely supportive and excited about the
work that is taking place at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Values and
believe that its research is needed and of significance for everyone.
