Ben Perks, Head of Campaigns and Advocacy at UNICEF and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Jubilee Centre, recently delivered a presentation entitled ‘Building Character and Resilience into Global Education’ at a Jubilee Centre webinar. Ben discussed the impact of school closures around the world, the imbalanced vulnerability to the pandemic of certain populations due to growing inequality and a declining sense of a shared common good, and how actors may ensure that character and virtue are central to more resilient school systems that enable societies to flourish despite any future uncertainties.
Following this session, Ben published a piece on the College of Social Sciences blog platform outlining his thoughts on this topic in further detail. It is available to view here.
