On 12th and 13th January 2023, the Jubilee Centre hosted a Consultation on Embedding Civic Character in Schools at St. George’s House, Windsor Castle.

The Consultation brought together school leaders, NGO leaders and university academics to discuss how schools do and can embed civic character as part of their wider commitment to character education. Conversations and reflections undertaken during the consultation centred on three main themes: Civic character, purpose and school vision; Embedding the language of civic character in schools; and, Key pedagogies and practices for embedding civic character in schools. Throughout the consultation delegates shared their reflections on these themes, including their own practices for supporting and cultivating civic character in school settings. As with previous Consultations, the Centre will publish a Statement on this topic in the coming months.
