On 12th October 2021, the Centre hosted the fourth event in its webinar series 'Fostering Personal and Social Virtues in Education', presented in collaboration with The Vatican’s Congregation for Catholic Education, Fostering Digital Wisdom for the Digital Age.

Chaired by Aidan Thompson, the webinar welcomed papers and presentations from 

  • Dr. Tom Harrison – Reader, HEA Principal Fellow and National Teaching Fellow. He is Director of Education at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues and Programme Director for the Centre led MA Character Education.
  • Dr. Karen E. Bohlin – Senior Scholar, Centre for Character and Social Responsibility, Boston University and Founder, LifeCompass Institute, USA
  • Professor Maria Cinque – Associate Professor of Didactics, Teaching Methodologies and Special Pedagogy at the Department of Human Studies at LUMSA University, Rome.

A Q&A with attendees was also held which was chaired by Dr. Jörg Schulte-Altedorneburg, Managing Director at Porticus.

The event will include keynote speeches, policy and practitioner panels, interactive sessions, and opportunities to connect with a wide range of professionals and experts in the field.

Free resources:

There will be multiple free resources available for you to take away at this event. We will be launching a new workbook, based on research funded by the Society for Educational Studies, for use by careers guidance professionals and character educators to help students consider who they are, the character traits they aspire towards, and to align their career choices with this. We will also have multiple other free resources that educators can use within their practice based on over a decade of research at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues.
