This month marks the start of the ‘Civic Virtues Through Service to Others’ project, funded by the John Templeton Foundation. The project will build on the Centre’s longstanding research on, and interest in, civic virtues, social action and the formation of civic character. The project seeks to explore how civic virtues are understood (both theoretically and in practice), how service connects young people to others, and how civic virtues can be educated and placed more centrally within the work of youth-serving organisations, including schools.
