As a part of the Jubilee Centre’s Flourishing Schools event introducing the Character Teaching Inventory, two Ambassador of Character Awards were presented to leaders in character education. This forms part of a series of 10 to be awarded to celebrate the centre’s 10th anniversary.

Recognising their exceptional contributions to character education, these commendations were presented by Professor Dame Alison Peacock, the Chief Executive of the Chartered College of Teaching on Friday 1st July 2022.

The two new Ambassadors of Character are:

Sophie Murfin – CEO, Wise Owl Trust

“Sophie has been a teacher for 18 years, taking her first headship at St Wilfrid’s C of E school before moving to the Wise Owl Trust for the past 9 years, 2 of those being spent as CEO. She has been working in and promoting character education for the past 7 years and has transformed the Wise Owl Trust into a hub for character education.”

Herminder Channa OBE JP – Principal, Ark Boulton Academy

“Herminder is the Principal of Ark Boulton Academy, a co-educational secondary school located in Sparkhill in the south of Birmingham, and Executive Principal of Ark Schools nationally.
