On 4th March 2022, Centre staff attended a one-day meeting in Chicago with representatives from the Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Institute for the Transformation of Medical Education, Medical College of Wisconsin, led by its Director, Professor Adina L. Kalet, and Professor Fabrice Jotterand, Professor of Bioethics and Medical Humanities. The Kern Institute has been utilising the Centre’s Framework to guide its development of transformative medical education. In the meeting, Professor James Arthur discussed the ideas behind the Jubilee Centre and what could be learnt from them; Professor Kristján Kristjánsson spoke about the Centre’s work in the field of professional health ethics; and Dr. Sabena Jameel, Associate Clinical Professor in Medical Professionalism, Birmingham Medical School, spoke about her research into practical wisdom in medicine. In roundtable discussions, various representatives from the Kern Institute and the Jubilee Centre spoke about research synergies and potential future collaborations.
