Virtue, Vice and Verse

The Schools of Virtue project explored character education and modes of delivery across a range of sources. One of these was a project which created resources for use with lower secondary pupils to explore character and virtue literacy through poetry, in a project called Virtue, Vice and Verse. The project is trialling 6 lessons, which focus on different poems from a range of well-known and established poets, including Wilfred Owen, Percy Shelley, William Blake, and Emily Bronte. The resources are designed to challenge pupils to think about how the poems make them feel, and how virtues and vices are portrayed in each poem, or pair of poems.

The teaching packs and PowerPoint resources for each lesson can be found below.
