24th August 2021Resources

As part of the ‘Character in the Corpus’ project, this month's blog post and teaching resource focuses on empathy. The blog discusses how empathy is identified, defined and generated within both moral education and literary studies. Using four approaches, 'Defining Empathy', 'Feeling', 'Fellow Feeling' and 'Compassion', the teaching resource aims to demonstrate how empathy is treated within literature, alongside touchstone passages drawn from the A-Level set texts with associated commentary detailing how empathy may be discussed in relation to pupils’ literary studies.

The blog can be read here, and the resource is available to view here.
