Professor Kristján Kristjánsson

  • On Wednesday 20th May 2026, Professor Kristján Kristjánsson delivered a keynote presentation entitled ‘Morality, Flourishing, and the Environment’ at the Education for Transformation Conference in Utrecht, Netherlands.

 

Dr. Shane McLoughlin

  • Dr. Shane Mcloughlin delivered the B.F. Skinner lecture on philosophical, conceptual, and historical issues at the Association for Behavioural Analysis International Conference

 

April

Centre events

  • The Centre co-hosted a workshop in partnership with the John Templeton Foundation on ‘Towards a Research Agenda for Character-Based Coaching and Character Development Through Sport’ in Philadelphia, PA, on Wednesday 22nd April 2026.
  • On 19th – 21st April 2026, the MA Character Education team held a Residential programme in Charlotte, North Carolina, for students and graduates based in the United States funded through the Kern Award Scholarship.

  • On 14th April 2026, Dr. Shane McLoughlin joined a panel on the Future of AI in Education

 

Professor James Arthur

  • On 11th April 2026, Professor James Arthur gave a seminar on character and flourishing in Rome

 

March

Centre events

  • On 12th March 2026, the centre hosted the Character-Based Coaching in Sport Conference at St. Andrews @ Knighthead Park in partnership with Birmingham City Football Club Foundation
  • On 12th and 13th March 2026, Professor James Arthur, Professor Kristján Kristjánsson, and Dr. Liz Gulliford presented at the Education for Moral Flourishing conference at the Francisco de Vitoria University, Madrid.

 

Dr. Liz Gulliford

  • On 9th and 10th March, Liz Gulliford delivered a series of talks on character education, resilience, and awe in Helsingborg, Sweden

Professor Kristján Kristjánsson

  • On 26th February 2026, Professor Kristján Kristjánsson gave a keynote lecture on ‘The Value-Addedness of Magda Arnold’s Emotion Theory to an Aristotelian Approach’ at the Emotions and Human Flourishing Conference, Holy Cross University, Rome.

 

Professor Andrew Peterson

  • On 24th February 2026, Professor Andrew Peterson presented at the Next Generation Assessment – Principle to Practice Conference, London, featuring on the Inclusive Assessment Practice panel, which made up part of a workshop entitled ‘Assessing Character Education: What, Why, How?’

Centre events

  • Between 8th- 10th of January 2026, the Jubilee Centre held its 14th Annual conference Character Caught, Taught, and Sought: Theories and Evidence at Oriel College, Oxford.

 

Professor Kristján Kristjánsson

  • From 19th – 20th January; Professor Kristján Kristjánsson participated in an invited three-part seminar series at the Centre for Character and Human Growth, Universidad Villanueva, Madrid.
