Professor Kristján Kristjánsson
- Professor Kristján Kristjánsson gave the following keynote lecture on July 8: “The Flourishing Bandwagon in Education: From 2020 Onwards”, at the conference Moral Education and Flourishing in a Changing World, Lancaster University Confucius Institute. Associate Professor Shane McLoughlin and PhD student Wei-Ting Chang from the Jubilee Centre also gave presentations at this conference.
- Professor Kristján Kristjánsson delivered a webinar on July 2, entitled “Phronesis, Emotions, and Education: A Neo-Aristotelian Approach”, for the Singapore Centre for Character and Citizenship Education
- Professor Kristján Kristjánsson gave a seminar presentation at the ECVA conference in Trnava, Slovakia, June 26, entitled “Cultural Sensitivity – and Knowing What to Do”.
Dr. Shane McLoughlin
- The Lancaster University Confucius Institute hosted the Moral Education and Human Flourishing in a Changing World conference, featuring a keynote from Professor Kristján Kristjánsson. Dr Shane McLoughlin presented comparative research on phronesis across cultures, while PhD researcher Weiting Chang shared her UK–Taiwan study of parents’ roles in character education.
- Dr. Shane McLoughlin delivered a presentation at the Association for Moral Education’s 52nd Annual Conference between 12th and 14th June, Madrid, Spain. Dr. McLoughlin presented as part of two symposiums covering Moral Identity, Human Flourishing, and Empirical Approaches to Phronesis between them.

Dr. Paul Watts delivered a presentation at the Association for Moral Education’s 52nd Annual Conference between 12th and 14th June, Madrid, Spain. Dr Watts presentation was entitled ‘Learning to Share from Stories: Young Children’s Moral Theme Comprehension and Behaviour’.

- Michael Fullard delivered a presentation at the Association for Moral Education’s 52nd Annual Conference between 12th and 14th June, Madrid, Spain. Michael Fullard’s presentation was entitled ‘Exploring Student-Teacher Relationships through the Lens of Aristotelian Friendship’.

Professor Kristján Kristjánsson
- On Wednesday 20th May 2026, Professor Kristján Kristjánsson delivered a keynote presentation entitled ‘Morality, Flourishing, and the Environment’ at the Education for Transformation Conference in Utrecht, Netherlands.
- Professor Kristján Kristjánsson recently visited Singapore to offer consultation to the Centre for Character and Citizenship Education. He also gave a keynote presentation on May 27 at the conference Resigning Pedagogy at NTU, entitled “The Flourishing Bandwagon in Education: From 2020 Onwards”. The conference had 1200 attendees, including Singapore’s Minister of Education. Kristjánsson finally gave a masterclass entitled “Character Education and Citizenship Education: Friends or Foes?”, as part of the Redesigning Pedagogy conference.

- Dr. Shane Mcloughlin delivered the B.F. Skinner lecture on philosophical, conceptual, and historical issues at the Association for Behavioural Analysis International Conference

Centre events
- The Centre co-hosted a workshop in partnership with the John Templeton Foundation on ‘Towards a Research Agenda for Character-Based Coaching and Character Development Through Sport’ in Philadelphia, PA, on Wednesday 22nd April 2026.
- On 19th – 21st April 2026, the MA Character Education team held a Residential programme in Charlotte, North Carolina, for students and graduates based in the United States funded through the Kern Award Scholarship.

- On 11th April 2026, Professor James Arthur gave a seminar on character and flourishing in Rome

- On 12th March 2026, the centre hosted the Character-Based Coaching in Sport Conference at St. Andrews @ Knighthead Park in partnership with Birmingham City Football Club Foundation
- On 12th and 13th March 2026, Professor James Arthur, Professor Kristján Kristjánsson, and Dr. Liz Gulliford presented at the Education for Moral Flourishing conference at the Francisco de Vitoria University, Madrid.

- On 9th and 10th March, Liz Gulliford delivered a series of talks on character education, resilience, and awe in Helsingborg, Sweden

- On 24th February 2026, Professor Andrew Peterson presented at the Next Generation Assessment – Principle to Practice Conference, London, featuring on the Inclusive Assessment Practice panel, which made up part of a workshop entitled ‘Assessing Character Education: What, Why, How?’

- On 3rd February 2026, Dr. Shane McLoughlin represented the Jubilee Centre as a discussion provocateur for the Practical Wisdom Network’s webinar on ‘Wisdomlessness’

- Between 8th- 10th of January 2026, the Jubilee Centre held its 14th Annual conference Character Caught, Taught, and Sought: Theories and Evidence at Oriel College, Oxford.
