From 1st to 3rd March 2022, the Jubilee Centre and the Kern Family Foundation hosted a Partners’ Convening Conference in Chicago, USA. The conference brought together 130 Kern Family Foundation partners and associates from across the United States, including senior school leaders, academics, university administrators, and policy makers, to reflect upon the role of character formation and flourishing in and across their own institutions. The Jubilee Centre team – including Professors James Arthur, Kristján Kristjánsson, Andrew Peterson, Dr. Tom Harrison, Paul Watts and Michael Fullard – gave presentations and led discussions on: Character Education and Social Emotional Learning; Aristotle and Leadership; Character Education Pedagogies and Practice; and Phronesis in Diverse Settings and Cultures. The conference provided opportunities for participants to identify their next steps for theorising, researching and implementing character education in their institutions.
