Marking the beginning of the Jubilee Centre’s 10th anniversary year, on 7th January 2022 Director Professor James Arthur and special guest Heather Templeton Dill, President of the John Templeton Foundation, were joined by those who were due to be in attendance at the Centre’s now delayed 10th annual conference for the premiere of a new film marking this milestone entitled ‘A Decade Worth Celebrating’. Heather offered remarks on the work of the Centre to date, praising the Centre’s stewardship of her family’s vision for the development of the field of character education before members of the Centre participated in a Q&A session with attendees. 

Celebrating the first ten years of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, ‘A Decade Worth Celebrating’ charts the Centre's journey since its launch in 2012 and captures its key messages and achievements.

As a pioneering, multidisciplinary research centre, the film provides a snapshot of the breadth, scale and depth of the research, resources, publications created by staff that have been used to affect policy, pedagogy and practice. It can be watched below and via the Centre's YouTube Channel.

Our speakers will share their expertise and perspectives on educational policy and best practices for empowering students to excel in the working world through harnessing their character strengths. The event will include keynote speeches, policy and practitioner panels, interactive sessions, and opportunities to connect with a wide range of professionals and experts in the field.

Free resources:

There will be multiple free resources available for you to take away at this event. We will be launching a new workbook, based on research funded by the Society for Educational Studies, for use by careers guidance professionals and character educators to help students consider who they are, the character traits they aspire towards, and to align their career choices with this. We will also have multiple other free resources that educators can use within their practice based on over a decade of research at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues.
