New Report: 'A Cyber-Wisdom Approach to Digital Citizenship Education'

The Centre has recently published A Cyber-Wisdom Approach to Digital Citizenship Education: Insights from Adolescents and Parents. The report presents and compares key findings from two surveys which explored the extent to which both adolescents and parents understand the importance of, and act on, wisdom and character virtues in the digital age. Key findings from the surveys suggest that the virtue that most adolescents want their friends to show on social media is wisdom, with 38% choosing this as one of their top two desired qualities. Similarly, asked to select two qualities, most parents (56%) want their children to show wisdom when using the internet. We will be launching a new workbook, based on research funded by the Society for Educational Studies, for use by careers guidance professionals and character educators to help students consider who they are, the character traits they aspire towards, and to align their career choices with this. We will also have multiple other free resources that educators can use within their practice based on over a decade of research at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues.
