The Jubilee Centre has published Schools, Civic Virtues and the Good Citizen, a report developed as part of the Civic Virtues Through Service to Others research project. The report presents data examining how school leaders, teachers and pupils understand and experience educating for civic virtues, as well as how they understand the virtues of a good citizen. Key findings of the report include the importance placed by school leaders on the role of their schools in cultivating civic virtues, the different approaches taken by schools in adopting the language of civic virtues and the importance placed on moral virtues by teachers and pupils when considering the virtues of the good citizen. In addition, the findings suggest that teachers and pupils generally conceive moral virtues to be foundational for developing civic virtues. The report is available online here.
