Reconsidering the ‘Ten Myths’ about Character Education

Professors Kristján Kristjánsson, Tom Harrison, and Andrew Peterson have co-authored an article, which is available in open access, on reconsidering the ‘Ten Myths about Character’.

This is a follow-up and update to an article about the ‘Ten Myths’ by Kristján Kristjánsson first author, which appeared in the same journal in 2013 with almost 23,000 downloads. This article was foundational with regard to the early work of the Jubilee Centre and its creation of a Framework for Character Education and is sensitive to various concerns and misgivings about the field.

The field has moved on considerably since 2013 and this new article explains new developments and how they provide ammunition to counter the old myths, but also open up new challenges in need of further research work.
