From 31st July – 2nd August 2023, the Centre welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Education and the newly formed Singapore Centre for Character Education at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore. The delegation was led by the former director of the Singapore National Institute of Education, Professor Oon Seng Tan.
The plans were set in place during Professor James Arthur’s recent visit at the NIE, Singapore, as the 15th CJ KOH Professor, a prestigious professorship awarded to an academic each year. Professor Arthur joined previous CJ Koh distinguished professors, including: Marilyn Cochran-Smith from Boston College (in 2006), Robin Alexander from University of Cambridge (2010), and Fernando Reimers from Harvard Graduate School of Education (2015).
Members of the delegation were showcased a range of the Centre’s most recent projects and spent a great deal of the visit in discussion with Centre staff on various topics surrounding Character Education.
