On September 18th, Dr. Liz Gulliford Associate Professor at the Jubilee Centre for Character & Virtues, led the faith-based convening at St Mary’s University Minnesota, giving two talks: ‘An Appreciative Critique of the Jubilee Centre’s Framework for Character Education from a Christian Perspective’ and ‘Alternative virtues to Phronesis from a Christian Perspective’ drawing on her theory of ‘virtue clustering’ (Gulliford & Roberts, 2018). The following day, she delivered the Cardinal Virtues lecture at the University’s Winona campus: Gratitude and the search for the Good Life: How Gratitude and Related Virtues promote Human Flourishing. On September 26th, Dr. Gulliford presented a paper ’A Case Study on the use of Exemplar Narratives for Character Education in Higher Education’ at the Communities Cultivating Character Conference at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The event was hosted by Dr David Walker, professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of Alabama and formerly of the Jubilee Centre.
