The Jubilee Centre would like to congratulate Elvetham Primary School (Jan 2023) and Northampton Academy (March 2023) on their recent Ofsted success, with both school’s receiving Outstanding across all criteria. Both schools have a long history of character education and their character education provision was recognised by Ofsted as a significant strength of the school.
The Centre has worked closely with Elvetham Heath Primary School and Northampton Academy on several projects. Senior leaders and teachers at both schools contributed significantly to the Centre’s online CPD programme, Leading Character Education in Schools and both schools are celebrated in the Centre’s Windows into Schools: Celebrating Character brochure.
These inspection outcomes provide further evidence of the importance of character education within Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework and subsequent School Inspection Handbook. Since the Ofsted School Inspection Handbook was published in May 2019 and came into effect in September 2019 there has been an increase in school’s being recognised for their distinct character education provision.
