Michael Fullard

Michael is an Assistant Professor on the MA Character Education. He joined the Jubilee Centre as a Research Fellow in May 2017, following a period in 2016 where he worked as a Teaching Fellow. Michael has over 9 years’ teaching experience in the primary sector, where he held roles such as Head of Curriculum and Phase Leader. 

Michael has worked on research projects linked to Teacher Education, looking at character perspectives of pre-service teachers, the Centre’s award winning CPD programme, Leading Character Education in Schools and more recently on  Teaching Character Education: What Works. Michael was also lead author on the Teaching Character Through the Primary Curriculum project, which looked at developing character in Key Stage 2 pupils as they move to secondary school. He also contributed towards the development of the Character Education Evaluation Handbook for Schools.

Michael received an MA Character Education with distinction in 2019. Michael began a part-time PhD in Education in 2020, examining how character education can influence positive student-teacher relationships within schools. Michael aims to contribute to the development of character education within schools and higher education an area he believes is vital to the development of young people today.
